Janet Jackson Styled In Designs By Ghanaian Fashion Brand Aphia Sakyi

Legendary artist and sister to the late MJ, Janet Jackson just published a hilarious social media video depicting an audition for her just released 'Made For Now' video.

Her first ever social media video sees viral YouTube and Instagram stars such as @KingBach and @BlameItOnKway auditioning for the queen (Janet Jackson) in an African cultured setting, where she the queen will approve or disapprove of the talents that perform before her, as her brother once did in his video 'Remember The Times' in front of Eddie Murphy in an Egyptian style setting.

However, in this case Janet Jackson follows the theme for the 'Made for Now' video which is decorated by rich urban African culture and her subjects and performers are all dressed in African prints and jewelry. Janet Jackson, the queen, is seen wearing an amazing statement neck piece by award winning Ghanaian accessory brand Aphia Sakyi.

Ghana’s first large scale mall, Accra Mall, over the weekend held the second edition of its Accra Mall Fashion Weekend show as part of activities to mark its 10th anniversary.

Themed “Beauty without Standards”, the show gave shoppers, guests and the general public an opportunity to access a wide-range of fashion collections on the runway.

Speaking on the second edition, Marketing Manager of Accra Mall, Denise Asare said the world we live in has attached high standards to beauty.

“When shoppers enter a mall, they are looking for experiences beyond traditional shopping. As a result, shopping malls are now part of our lifestyle—redefining people’s personal choices on what to wear, eat, where we meet or how we see ourselves.”

Accra Mall Presents Fashion Weekend 2018 – Beauty Without Standards

Ghana’s first large scale mall, Accra Mall has launched the second edition of its Fashion Weekend at the Accra Mall Food Court from Saturday August 24 to Sunday August 25 as part of activities to mark its 10th anniversary.

From now to July 2019, Accra Mall has lined up fashion shows, monthly highlife sessions, Social Media Week, student hopping night and other activities to massively reward loyal customers.

The Fashion Weekend dubbed ‘Beauty Without Standards’ is an exciting two-day line up of panel discussions on a range of health and fashion topics hosted by Lakeshia Marie Ford of Ford Communications and informative and interactive hair and beauty demonstrations by Carols Daughter and Maybelline. It ends with an amazing runway show hosted by Agnes Ntow featuring all fashion and accesory tenants of Accra Mall as well as guest designers. It’s free.

NUEL BANS COVERS THE EDITORS ISSUE OF DEBONAIR AFRIK AUGUST

Debonair Afrik is a fashion & lifestyle publication as well as a fashion content creation agency in Accra, Ghana.

According to him, the agency officially started five years ago with the help of some friends and his older brother after he encountered friends who had difficulties promoting their brands and sharing their brand narratives. It primarily started as a blog that published African related fashion content and has grown over the years with the help of friends who bought into the vision.

Nuel Bans has been in the fashion industry for close to eight years. He started as a model, continued as a fashion assistant for designers and is now one of the biggest names in the fashion industry in Ghana.

In an interview with Miss Seyram Nutsukpui he revealed that he believes the industry in Ghana is positively evolving. “People here are beginning to understand and accept that fashion is a serious business venture like any other, but I think currently how lucrative it is, is dependent on where you stand with regards to your niche and craft”, he stated.
