For the first time in history, Nigeria will be hit with the biggest platform dedicated to African inspired fashion, African Fashion Week Nigeria (AFWN).
The two-day spectacular show which will be held between Saturday, 17th and Sunday, 18th May 2014 at Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos will showcase everything that defines fashion from an African point of view.
African Fashion Week Nigeria will give equal opportunity and priority to top fashion designers alongside new and emerging designers to celebrate culture, style and increase their passion for fashion.
This is an opportunity for all aspiring or emerging designers to use as a platform to showcase their talent to the right people. Designers and exhibitors who want to participate are required to log on to their website, www.africafashionweeknigeria.com to download the application form.
The event which will feature designers from the whole of Africa, offer those in the fashion industry a free platform on which to showcase their brands, act as an opportunity for fashion designers to network among each other, create a portal for new designers to enter into the market and integrate into the international fashion system, highlight the African textile Industry to a global audience, enable African countries to showcase their national fabrics through their designers, make African textiles visible to the rest of the world , and lots more.

African Fashion Week was created in London 2011 by Ronke Ademiluyi, CEO with impressive turnouts over the years. AFWL has created an unparalleled platform for over 100 UK and non UK designers who have showcased their collections in London.
The First Lady of Ekiti State, Her Excellency Chief Mrs. Erelu Bisi Fayemi was once the patron of the fashion show, the Nigeria-based architect and businesswoman, Princess Fifi Ejindu was an ambassador, Nigeria’s number one online music platform, iROKING, OH TV, FAB magazine went into partnership with them, while Globacom Limited and others were sponsors.
